Delivery Methods

The selective sealing quality of the high pressure leak repair sealant allows for very flexible delivery methods. Since the sealant never hardens except in the presence of a differential pressure, there are no concerns about the time to deliver the sealant, the temperature of the well (below 500 degrees F), or the sustained pressure of the well. If the sealant can be delivered to the leak site and a differential pressure created by the leak, there is a high probability of sealing the leak.

The sealant will not harden during the delivery process regardless of the time involved, temperature or ambient pressures.

The delivery method depends on the nature and location of the leak. Some of the delivery methods include:

  • Use of W/L dump bailer
  • Use of Coiled Tubing
  • Atomized into gas stream
  • Displace through subsea umbilical
  • Hot-Stab with ROV and Belly Tank

Typical service equipment consists of three plastic Pelican Cases containing an air driven pump, hoses, fittings, hand tools, and an assortment of repair sealants; all suitable for transport by helicopter. Seal-Tite® sealant is designed to repair a variety of leaks, including umbilical, subsea connection, sustained casing pressure, as well as other high pressure leaks.
